IJSBA Announces Competition Classes for the 2008 quakysense World Finals

The following shall be the competition classes for the 2008 World Finals. This list contains the traditional World Finals classes as well as classes that have been added over the past few years to meet the needs of the contemporary market. Below the class list you will see a guide that describes some of the terms in the class list.

* Requires early registration of more than 12 entries to become final. If there are not 12 entries by the early registration deadline then the entries will roll over into a consolidated class (a single Runabout 800 Open or the closest Stock, Limited, or Open Class). Junior Runabout requires 10 entries or it will be removed from the list. Junior Sick Trick requires 5 entries or it will be removed from the list. Early Registration will begin in July and end on the first week of September.

WATERCRAFT DISPLACEMENT LIMITS

Unless otherwise stated by the class name (ie Runabout 800) the following displacement limits apply:

Ski Stock and Ski Limited

Normally Aspirated Two Stroke: 850cc
Normally Aspirated Four Stroke: 1100cc
Super/Turbocharged Two or Four Stroke: 800cc

Ski Open/Superstock

Normally Aspirated Two or Four Stroke: 1100cc
Super/Turbocharged Two or Four Stroke: 800cc

Runabout Stock/Limited/Open

All Runabouts shall have an overall displacement of no greater than 2000cc. If displacement exceeds 1600cc then the maximum displacement shall be the OEM displacement of that model plus the additional volume created by a single overbore of each cylinder. The IJSBA shall publish the displacements once calculated.

WATERCRAFT ELIGIBILITY

Ski Open- All Ski Class PWC modified to IJSBA Open Class specifications. Novices wanting to enter Amateur Runabout Open must have one year’s experience racing and submit a resume that may be subject to skill verification.
Runabout Open- All Runabout Class PWC to IJSBA Open Specifications
Runabout 800 Superstock- Runabouts up to 800cc using Open Class Rules without Aftermarket Hulls or Aftermarket Cylinders.
Freestyle- Pros use modified rules up to 1200cc, Experts use modified rules up to 900cc
GP Classes- EJSBA GP Rules can be found at the bottom of this document.
Ski Limited- All Ski Class PWC modified to IJSBA Limited Class specifications. Ski equipped with an OEM turbocharger or supercharger must adhere to IJSBA Stock Class specifications.
Ski Stock- All Ski Class PWC modified to IJSBA Stock Class specifications.
Ski Lites- All Ski Class PWC, modified to Stock Class specifications, that have OEM horsepower ratings of 90 HP and below.
Runabout Lites- All Runabout PWC, modified to Stock Class specifications, that have OEM horsepower ratings of 220 HP and below.
Runabout Stock- All Runabout Class PWC modified to IJSBA Stock Class specifications.
Four Limited-All Runabouts modified to IJSBA Four Stroke Limited Class specifications.
Runabout Stock- Runabouts modified to IJSBA Stock Class specifications.
Runabout Stock- Runabouts modified to IJSBA Stock Class specifications.
Runabout 1300 Stock Classic- Two Stroke Watercraft modified to IJSBA Stock Class specifications. Honda PWC to stock class specification. Yamaha Normally Aspirated Four Stroke to stock class specifications. Sea-Doo Normally Aspirated Four Stroke to Stock Class specifications. Kawasaki F-12 to Stock Class Specifications. No other PWC allowed.
Runabout 1300 Limited Classic- Two Stroke Watercraft modified to IJSBA Limited Class specifications. Honda PWC to stock class specifications. Yamaha Normally Aspirated Four Stroke to stock class specifications. Sea-Doo Normally Aspirated Four Stroke to Stock Class specifications. Kawasaki F-12 to Stock Class Specifications. No other PWC allowed.
Runabout 1300 Open Classic- Two Stroke Watercraft modified to IJSBA Open Class specifications. Honda PWC to stock class specifications. Yamaha Four Stroke to stock class specifications. Sea-Doo Normally Aspirated Four Stroke to Stock Class specifications. Kawasaki F-12 to Stock Class Specifications. No other PWC allowed.

YOU MUST STAY IN YOUR AGE CATEGORY IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THE WORLD FINALS. YOU MUST ADVANCE THE NEXT AGE CATEGORY OR NOVICE OR EXPERT IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS 61 DAYS OR MORE PRIOR TO THE WORLD FINALS. NO JUNIOR MAY ADVANCE STRAIGHT TO PRO.
