IJSBA Rules Changes for 2010

The IJSBA is pleased to announce the complete rule changes for 2010. These rules were passed (or voted down) by the IJSBA Board of Directors totaling eleven individual votes. The holidays caused a delay in getting all votes received but the vote was finalized yesterday on January 4, 2010, at approximately 9:00 PM, PST.
These rules will be transcribed into a Rule Book draft and be published within the next 5 days. Please see each item below as the outcome of a question that was presented to the Board of Directors.

- The IJSBA shall allow Stock Class Runabouts to affix a stop valve that will prevent supply line surges from causing possible damage to the intercooler.
- The IJSBA shall allow Freestyle competitors to utilize a generic look top deck and Ski PWC appearance for aftermarket hulls.
- The IJSBA shall allow Freestyle competitors to utilize replica engines resembling homologated OEM engine cases.
- The IJSBA shall allow the Runabout Limited class to utilize both Cam/Valve modifications and an aftermarket Supercharger Impeller.
- The IJSBA shall amend the provision for aftermarket intercoolers in the Runabout Limited Class so that there is no longer a restriction of +/- 25%
- Aftermarket ECU shall remain in Runabout Stock Classes
- The IJSBA shall amend rule 6.4.5 so that it clearly reads that additional water may be sent to the intercooler.
- The IJSBA shall allow reinforcements to OEM intercoolers, intercooler end caps, fittings, brackets, exhaust exits, and may allow replacement parts, as needed, on a case by case basis in order to address known risks of possible equipment failures in normal racing conditions. These replacements will only be approved if there is no volume or performance gains by the reinforcements/replacements.
- The IJSBA shall allow backdating in the Stock Class between the same models only.
- The IJSBA shall increase the allowable displacement of Two Stroke Ski engines to 1200cc in the Open (and Mod/GP) classes.
- The IJSBA shall allow Two Stroke Ski to utilize homologated engines of the same OEM make in the Open classes.
- The IJSBA shall keep the maximum boost for Turbocharged SKI in the Limited classes at 14 PSI as the standard setting with an allowance for Affiliates and promoters/local clubs to adjust the boost pressure allowance from 10 PSI to 14 PSI depending on their local needs and track conditions.
- The IJSBA shall keep the maximum displacement for Two Stroke Stock Class ski at 850 cc.
- The IJSBA shall allow a sliding scale for base and head gasket thicknesses based on the following ranges 0-779cc and 780-850cc.
- The IJSBA shall retain the provision for an aftermarket stinger insert in Stock Ski Classes
- The IJSBA shall retain the provision for aftermarket water routing in Stock Ski Classes
- The IJSBA shall offer name options for Stock, Lites, and Performance Stock classes based on the needs of the Stock Class PWC at each event/series.
- The IJSBA shall publish a menu for Spec Class Racing with a focus on Ski for 2010 in the appendix.
- The IJSBA shall update the example class list.
- The IJSBA shall publish the Sport Spec Rules in the appendix.
- The age for Veterans competing in Ski classes shall remain at 30 years of age.
- The IJSBA shall not allow aftermarket fuel injectors in Runabout Stock Classes.
- The IJSBA shall clarify that OEM seat foam is not required in Runabout Stock Classes.
- The IJSBA shall not require minimum/maximum distances for the black buoy.
- The IJSBA shall not allow aftermarket pump cones in Ski Stock classes.
- The IJSBA shall not allow aftermarket exhaust pipes for certain models in the Ski Stock classes.
- The IJSBA shall not allow aftermarket heads in the Ski Stock Class.
- The IJSBA shall not have different Stock Class allowances based on skill levels.
- The IJSBA shall not reduce the allowable boost pressure to 5 PSI in the Ski Stock classes.
- The IJSBA shall not have any new automatic promotion requirements for Novice card holders (however, we will have a petition process for such).
- The IJSBA shall not add Pro Am and Amateur to the designations on a competition license.
- The IJSBA shall not remove Novice classes.
- The IJSBA shall not remove Pro Am classes.
- Four Stroke Limited Runabouts may affix a pressure relieve valve to the intake system.
